I love large, often silly, animal sculptures. Minnesota is alive with them. Imagine my delight when we went into Grand Marais and I saw this fishing gear store with its giant Walleye jumping through its ceiling and wall. (The tail had recently been repaired after being torn off in a wind storm. Alas, in my excitement to draw it I didn't leave room on the page for the lovely fan of a tail!)
During my stay in Grand Marais I would try many different kinds of fish. Some were smoked, pan fried, or breaded (as in my herring fillets on a bun, at the Fisherman's Picnic). All of them were good!
