This is a journal I made a couple years ago and when I finished the small white-paged journal, pages of which come just before this in the listings, I decided I wanted to work big and use this journal. The journal contains 130 gr. Gutenberg paper. I love the lightly toned, flecked paper, with an almost cold press texture. But this weight of paper is too thin. You can actually see through it to other pages and it buckles slightly. (I have solved this problem by getting 180 gr. Gutenberg, which is "just right." I use it in the Grand Marais 2005 journal, as well as elsewhere.)
These pages are large, about 11 x 8.5. It's a big book to hold, especially since it's landscape. I have one more of these that I made at the same time. I know I'll use it sometime, but not soon. I have to design a weight lifting regimen first. Above is a sketch of one corner of my allergist's waiting room. The broad band of light yellow stretching across the page was prepainted. |
