More bird studies at the Bell Museum. I'm trying to get a better understanding of the way the neck on this one bird bends back. After painting a small version of it I did the pen sketch at the right. (The page was prepainted with strokes and splatters of ink that serendipitously coordinated with these birds.)
Note: for people watching chronological order I actually painted the Tern on the previous entry after these birds. |
