I thought maybe the puffins at Como could use a break from me so I drew fish in the Aquatic building instead, before teaching color theory class. The large tanks have currents of water running through them and the fish swim into the current, holding their position with simple flicks of their fins and tails. Watching their patterns you can begin to anticipate where they will be and what pose they will take. This is a large carp.

See the watercolor sketch on which I based this carving.
