Still at Como Zoo, I stood on the outside walkway that crosses over the big cat enclosures. I was able to look down at the lions, but couldn't get my angles right. I'm just too short to hold a consistent position from the walkway. I can't lean, balance, and draw all at the same time.
I stopped in the ape house and was struck with the way the male gorilla's back looked pressed against the glass of his enclosure. It's rather amazing that we can get so close. His position has to be the ultimate in brush offs. Lots of notes to myself and overheard conversations today. |
