journal page

I made a trial casebound journal using Biblio. A lot of my friends who make their own journals use this paper. It's thinner than the papers I typically use. I wanted to see if it would be opaque enough for all the media I use in my journals. I wanted to try a thinner paper because with thinner paper I can have just as many signatures, but less weight to carry around!

Biblio proved to be opaque enough for most things. Sometimes the pen and writing would show through from a previous page, but not enough to really bother me. Instead, what really bothered me about this paper was its softness. It has a eggshell type texture, a slight pebbly surface that I don't enjoy writing on. I found the pages very limp, and difficult to turn (the feathery torn edges would stick together). It was, however, a fun paper for working with Pilot Varsity fountain pens and a waterbrush. Laurie and I went sketching by the Mississippi and that's all I took with me to work with.
