While we were still on Artists' Point this mother duck floated by with her 3 ducklings. Then she flew up to this rock and scanned the horizon, looking out at a loon in the distance. She eventually returned to her ducklings and brought them up on the rocks a few yards away, where a rock ledge reached the water level.
I wasn't thinking about any of that when I drew this; and yes it is a self portrait. Birds usually are for me. |
