After several pages of sketches and notes I decided it might be nice if I actually sketched the head of one of these gorgeous birds. To get the mottled texture of the feathers on the neck and breast I waited for just the right moment of dampness and pounced with the Bounty paper towel (yes I'm brand loyal). It created an uneven surface texture on which to place my next wash.
