I'm working on a series of goose paintings so the Snow Geese Diorama provides an opportunity for me to sit on the floor and stare up at the specimens in angles I wouldn't normally have access to.
The tab at the center of the spread is left from when I cut out pages in the book to accommodate collage. I found it really irritating to draw around the tab on this spread, because I'm trying to draw the young goose with his wings outstretched, across the gutter. When I get home I end up sticking this stub down with archival two-sided tape. That hides some of the head from the beak study on the other paper, but it makes sense to me. |
